Xfinity also changed the name of its nationwide network to the Xfinity 10G network and launched a major marketing campaign around it, complete with a Super Bowl ad. We’re at the point now where 10G tech is being deployed in the field, as evidenced by Xfinity’s recent network and infrastructure upgrades. That’s a big deal because it means most of the US could have access to very fast internet, which in turn could cultivate a boom of technological development. The 10G platform is a group of cable internet technologies that will allow cable ISPs like Xfinity and Spectrum to provide super fast and advanced internet connections. Think fiber internet but potentially available to many more people. With reliable infrastructure composed of fiber coaxial cable available to a large subset of the country, chances are there's coverage in your region.The simplest way to explain 10G internet is that it’s faster, more advanced, and more capable cable internet. Spectrum has a sizable service footprint with availability in 41 different states, serving more than 33% of the United States population. There is, however, an application process for this type of plan. This plan gives you 30 Mbps download speeds retailing at a cost-effective price. Spectrum also offers a budget broadband plan for low-income families. Spectrum’s Gig plan provides customers with 1 Gbps (1000 Mbps) download speeds. Spectrum also offers their Internet Ultra plan which gives the end user 300 Mbps network performance along with a higher tier for those who require more bandwidth. That number is dependent on geographic location, however. Their base plan comes with a minimum of 100 Mbps network speeds. Spectrum's high-speed Internet offerings cover a wide range of download speeds. Most modern Internet plans boast far greater network speeds. The FCC's 25 Mbps metric is somewhat outdated.
